September Program Highlights

Main Library

There's too much to list this month in the Children's Room! There are plenty of programs you're not gonna want to miss.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, September 16 at 2:30 p.m. when Beethoven's Wig returns. A classical show for families. Four-time Grammy Nominee Beethoven's Wig sings witty lyrics set to the world's greatest masterpieces of classical music. And the audience gets to join the fun when they sing and dance along to some of the greatest music ever composed. It's a perfect mix of education and entertainment and a fabulous introduction to classical music for kids of all ages.*

On Tuesday, September 26 at 3:30 p.m. New York Times bestselling children's author/illustrator and Worcester native Jarrett J. Krosoczka returns to Worcester! Jarrett will tell us a little bit about his experience growing up in the city, give us some insight into his creative process, and share some insider info on some of your favorite titles!

We're always very excited to have a Comics Workshop with Raúl the Third on Saturday, September 30 at 2 p.m. Raúl is the 2017 Pura Belpre Illustrator Award Winner for Lowriders to the Center of the Earth. His work is drawing much acclaim, and was featured in three recent exhibits: at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Fitchburg Art Museum, and his first solo museum exhibition at the Museum of Art, New Hampshire.*

This month The Learning Hub also returns for Maker Mondays*, we'll host a Grandparents Day Brunch, Art Lessons with Bayda* are back, we'll introduce Sensory Storytime, and we'll celebrate on Talk Like a Pirate Day!
