April Program Highlights

This month at the Frances Perkins Branch we’ll have Crafty Kids: Monster Bookmarks on Thursday, April 5 at 3:30 p.m. Need a bookmark to keep your place? Come learn how to make a monster book mark that will hang on the corner of your book and guard your spot. Suggested for ages 5 -12 with a caregiver.

We’ll also have Preschool Tinker Club: Sort it! on Friday, April 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. Learn and practice early literacy skills. This month we’ll play with colors and shapes through a series of interactive stations. Suggested for ages 2-5.

You won’t want to miss Farm Visits on Friday, April 20 from 4 to 5 p.m. Love animals? Farm Visits will bring approximately 20 baby farm animals which will include baby diapered goats, mini potbelly piglet, lots of bunnies, silkie hens, chicks also Seasonally a lamb and ducklings. All ages welcome.*

The Teen and Tween Crafts: Recycled Magazine Baskets will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 3:30 p.m. Make a colorful, stylish basket out of old magazines. Suggested for ages 10 - 18.

Finally, don’t miss No Bake Birds’ Nest Cookies on Friday, April 27 from 3 to 4 p.m. Learn to make no-bake birds’ nest cookies. We’ll provide everything you need to leave with a small treat. Suggested for ages 4 and up with a caregiver. Registration is required.

We’ll also host Family Storytime, Lego ‘n’ More Constructive Playtime, Cinema at the Library: The Last Jedi, Anime Club, and Sensory Play!

May Program Highlights

This month at the Frances Perkins Branch we'll have Cinema at the Library: Paddington 2 on Friday, May 4 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Paddington is back with his marmalade and good cheer. In Paddington 2, Paddington is on a quest for the perfect gift for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday. Paddington finds the perfect gift in an old shop, but when the gift is stolen Paddington must solve the mystery. Adults must be accompanied by a child. Rated PG.

You won't want to miss Chocolate Flower Bouquets – Friday, May 11 at from 4 to 5 p.m. – Do you need a Mothers’ Day gift? Make your mother a tasty gift, use Dove chocolate squares to make chocolate bouquets and paper flowers. Suggested for children 5 and up with a caregiver.

During Preschool Free Play Exploration on Friday, May 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. children will enjoy a series of stations that teach early childhood education concepts through free play. Suggested for ages 2-5.

Be sure to stop by for a special all ages Cinema at the Library: Black Panther on Thursday, May 24 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Black Panther picks up after the events of “Captain America: Civil War.” T’Challa returns home to the technologically advanced country of Wakanda to take his place as king. When an enemy returns he is drawn into a conflict reaching far beyond Wakanda. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a caregiver. Rated PG-13.

Finally, don't miss out on Slime Time on Wednesday, May 30 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Do you love slime? Wicked Henna is coming to teach us how to make slime. Each participant will go home with a 100% safe-for-sensitive-skin slime to play with. Suggested for ages 10+ with a caregiver.
