Holds FAQ

How will I be notified that my hold is ready to be picked up?

  • You can choose to receive a phone call, a text message, or an email when your holds are ready to be picked up. If you choose to receive a phone call notification, you will only be contacted once.  It is your responsibility to check for phone messages from the library.

How long will the library keep my hold for me?

  • Holds will be kept for 7 days.

How many holds am I allowed to request at one time?

  • You are allowed to request up to 20 holds.

I have a hold but I am unable to pick it up, what do I do?

  • Contact the library directly. In some circumstances, library staff may be able to extend the time the hold is kept.

My child has items on hold but I forgot their library card at home, can I pick those items up?

  • No. In order to pick up holds on behalf of another person, you must have that person’s library card.
