Requesting Materials
If the item you are looking for is not available at your preferred Worcester Public Library location, you may request it from another library by placing a hold.
Holds may be placed by patrons whose accounts are not in blocked status through the online catalog, over the phone, or in person at any location.
Patrons may place holds on up to 20 items. If a phone number or email is in your library account, we will contact you when a hold is ready. We will hold your items for up to 7 days at the designated pickup location.
Holds may be picked up by someone other than the cardholder as long as they have the cardholder’s library card.
Unique Requests
If a request cannot be filled in the region, patrons may submit a unique interlibrary loan request. These interlibrary loan requests must be picked up and returned at the library location that places the request. See Interlibrary Loan FAQ for more info.
“Unique Requests” are limited to four per account at one time.
